UFC 73: Anderson Silva vs. Nate Marquardt

Anderson Silva is back to the octagon after his last submission victory against Travis Lutter.  Anderson was defending his UFC Middleweight Championship belt for the first time since taking it away from Rich Franklin.  However, Travis didn’t do his homework by not making weight.  The fight still went on but the belt was not on the line anymore because of that.

Travis overpowered Silva in many occasions and even mounted him at one point.  Silva was able to use his talented ground skills by using his legs to put Travis in a triangle choke.  It seemed like Travis wasn’t aware of Silva’s acrobatic capability…hence, the name "Spider".  Travis defended himself poorly when he mounted Silva…and a very careless mistake it was.
Anderson Silva will put his belt on the line once again as he faces a Gaidojutsu expert, Nathan Marquardt.  Nate feels like this is his time to shine, but doesn’t every fighter feel that way.
Let the games begin…
