UFC 105 Headed To Manchester, England and Will Air On Spike TV For FREE

Manchester Evening News Arena

UFC 105 is scheduled to take place at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England on November 14, 2009.  The UK President of the UFC, Marshall Zelaznik, announced that the UFC 105 card will be televised LIVE and FREE through the Spike television network.

The UFC 105 fight card was expected to headline a main event bout between current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Michael “The Count” Bisping if Bisping would have been victorious over Dan Henderson at UFC 100.  However, due to Henderson’s knockout win over Bisping, a totally new fight card will have to be organized.  Local British fighters will most likely fill up the card in order to please the city of Manchester while the UFC is in town.  Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy, Ross “Real Deal” Pearson and James “Lightning” Wilks are expected to be a part of the main card at UFC 105.

The last time the UFC held an event at the Manchester Evening News Arena was back in April of 2007 at UFC 70, a card which headlined a UFC heavyweight bout between Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.  The main event was one of MMA’s worst upsets as Gonzaga defeated Cro Cop via a head kick knockout with 9 seconds remaining in the first round.

We’ll keep you guys posted on the UFC 105 main fight card once it starts taking shape…
