Stephan Bonnar injures knee; Removed from UFN 13 Fight Card

Stephan Bonnar was forced out of UFC’s Ultimate Fight Night 13 fight card after blowing out his knee during a training session. He was expected to fight on the main card against Matt Hamill, one of the most anticipated matches of the night.

Bonnar recently fought and won against Mike Nickels and then against Eric Schafer, but he’ll have to temporarily stop that winning streak until his left knee heals. There is no news on his replacement as of yet, but we’ll keep everyone posted as soon as we are notified.

Here’s a snip from Stephan Bonnar:

"I was doing nothing out of the ordinary, just working on my (jiu-jitsu) getting ready for my fight…I heard a pop and I thought, ‘Damn, what is this?’ I walked around on it a little, but when I got home, it was really stiff and swollen…What really sucks is that if you break your leg, it feels really bad, but you get on crutches and you sit out six weeks and then you’re back and you’re good to go…In this case, there isn’t the pain like a broken leg, but I’m out six months instead of six weeks."
