Sean Sherk “Getting Ready For Showtime” Against Frankie Edgar At UFC 98

The former UFC lightweight champion Sean “Muscle Shark” Sherk seems pretty much ready for his UFC 98 opponent Frankie Edgar.  The muscle shark won his last bout to Tyson Griffin via a unanimous decision at UFC 90.  He’s looking to acquire his second consecutive victory in a goal to get closer towards belt.  Sherk knows that Edgar is a very well-rounded fighter, but he believes he has what it takes to put him away.  If he’s able to get past Edgar on May 23rd, Sherk could be next in line for the UFC lightweight title.

UFC 98 will headline a light heavyweight title match between Rashad “Sugar” Evans and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida.  Sherk vs. Edgar will be the first bout off of the UFC 98 pay-per-view main event fight card.

Snip from Sean Sherk himself (props to sherdog.com):

“Things are going real good. [I have] a lot of good training partners. Training camp has been going phenomenal. [I’m] putting things together and just winding it down, getting ready for showtime…I think he’s pretty well-rounded. He has a great wrestling background, [and] his striking looks good. Every time I’ve seen him fight, he looks comfortable on his feet. I think he’s a purple belt in jiu-jitsu. I think he’s pretty well-versed. I don’t know how this fight is going to turn out. It could turn into a wrestling match or a boxing match. That has yet to be seen. I think you’ll see a lot of everything in this one. That’s the way it is with everybody in this industry now, especially at the high level. Everyone is three-dimensional now. You never know how it’s going to go until you get in there and start mixing it up.”
