Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza recently signed a UFC contract as he prepares to join the Middleweight competition. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master is coming into the American organization with a mixed martial arts record of 5-1-1, losing only once to Roger Gracie at the Abu Dhabi Combat Club World Championships in 2005. However, he is still a 2-time BJJ world champion with 5 submission wins in his career. He has also competed with top names like our current Heavyweight champion Randy Couture as the match ended with a scoreless draw.
The competition in the UFC’s Middleweight division seemed tough already, but Souza will come in the octagon to spice things up just a bit more. There is no word on who or when he will be fighting, but we’ll keep everyone posted as soon as he is added to a future fight card.
