Rampage Jackson Motivated To Beat Rashad Evans Because Losing To Shogun Rua Still Haunts Him

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is completely focused on his upcoming UFC 114 fight against Rashad ‘Sugar’ Evans.  He is finished with all of the trash talk and is motivated to give Evans the “ass whoopin” of his life.

What gives Rampage that motivation to beating Evans is the fact that if he wins, he’ll automatically have a title shot and a rematch fight against the current UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.  This is Jackson’s chance to get the belt he once owned plus he’ll have the opportunity to avenge a 2005 loss  that continues to haunt him to this very day.

From Rampage Jackson (via Yahoo Sports!):

“I feel like the universe is opened up for me right now. It seems like it’s my time.  Cause that Shogun fight actually does haunt me ever since then. I never even should have took the fight. Going into the fight I was already injured. It was one of those things it taught me a mean lesson…I was young, I was a kid, full of myself. I felt like Shogun he ain’t never fought nobody, he can’t hurt me. I can still take this fight even though I was injured cause I was all about making that money, and it ended up costing me…Even now, Rashad (Evans) talking bad about it, it makes me, I can’t explain how it makes me feel. It makes me want to put a hurting on Rashad, and then go put a hurting on Shogun right after.  I’m so fired up and so motivated.”
