Rampage Jackson Excited With A-team Movie Role, Still Unsure of UFC Return

Rampage Jackson

The former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is currently working on the movie ‘The A-team’ where he’ll be taking the role of B.A. Baracus.   Rampage was originally scheduled to fight Rashad Evans immediately after season 10 of Spike TV’s ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ but things began to change due to the film.  According to Rampage, his offer to act as B.A. Baracus was an offer he just couldn’t refuse as it brought back unforgettable childhood memories.

Rampage asked to push the date of his bout against Evans, but UFC President Dana White refused to postpone such a big fight simply because of a movie.  Rampage didn’t like what White had to say to the media in regards to his movie career, so he immediately announced his retirement from the UFC.  In a recent interview, White admits that he was indeed disappointed with Rampage for cancelling his fight but is confident that Rampage will return to the Octagon real soon.

From Rampage Jackson:

“It’s cool doing this movie! It is fun, but lots of work. I am playing a character that I thought was the coolest man alive growing up. I used to walk around my house pretending I was B.A. Baracus, reciting his lines to my family and friends. It proves to me how good God is. I can’t say [when I’ll fight next]. I have other movie offers already and I really miss my kids, it’s a lot easier on your family doing movies then at a ten week fight camp. I really have to think things through. I’m not saying that I don’t want to fight (but) we’ll see what the future holds.”
