The former UFC no. 1 middleweight title contender Patrick ‘The Predator’ Cote returns to the Octagon on May 1st after a devastating knee injury during his bout against Anderson Silva. After a 19-month layoff, Cote plans to make a second run at the UFC title against rising star Alan ‘The Talent’ Belcher at UFC 113. Cote announced his event participation on Twitter earlier today, a day after Belcher posted a message announcing he had signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC.
Cote won five consecutive bouts prior to his loss against Silva, while Belcher has won three of his last four Octagon fights. UFC 113 is scheduled to take place at Cote’s hometown in Montreal Canada on May 1st, 2010. The main event will feature a light heavyweight title fight rematch between current champion Lyoto ‘The Dragon’ Machida and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
