Murilo "Ninja" Rua and Antonio "Junior" Silva have recently signed with EliteXC. Although the exact length and salary of their contracts were not released, we were informed that they had inked "long-term deals."
Silva, also known as "Junior" or "Big Foot" currently holds an impressive 9-1-0 overall MMA record. He is 2-0 with the EliteXC organization, attaining wins over Wesley "Cabbage" Correira and Jonathan Wiezorek this year alone.
Rua had beaten Joey Villasenor late June of this year to acquire the middleweight title. However, he later lost his belt when he was defeated by former UFC contender Robbie Lawler via TKO-strikes in the third round. Rua was able to bounce back from that defeat and claim victory at Cage Rage 24 when he submitted Xavier Foupa-Pokam by way of armbar in the second round.
