Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic has officially signed a 3-fight contract with the UFC after rumors of him signing with DREAM, the Japanese Promotion.  UFC President Dana White was furious at the UFC 99 post-fight press conference as he was convinced by false rumors that Cro Cop had signed with a different organization.  Days later, Cro Cop told media that the rumors were indeed false and stated that he had not yet signed with either promotion and was still a free agent.  Cro Cop and UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta met personally and came about with an agreement to re-sign a UFC contract, but it wasn’t until recently that a 3-fight deal was inked.

Cro Cop is scheduled to fight Junior Dos Santos as part of the main fight card in the UFC 103 event in Dallas, Texas on September 19th, 2009.

Snip from UFC President Dana White:

“I never had a problem with Mirko himself, and I’m looking forward to having him fight for us again…He’s said (his previous stint in) the UFC is the black mark on his career and he wants to do something about that…I’ve said this many times, and I’ll say it again: there’s some crooked (expletive) that goes on in Japan…They’re all crooked; there’s some sneaky (expletive) going on over there. That’s always a big problem. These guys that are in the fight business over there, for my Mexican friends, ‘no bueno.'”
