As part of the UFC 102 ‘Couture vs. Nogueira’ fight card, Krzysztof “The Polish Experiment” Soszynski has stepped in to face Brandon “The Truth” Vera. Soszynski was brought in to replace the Matt Hamill who sustained a right knee injury during one of his training sessions.
Soszynski is currently riding on a 6-fight winning streak and 3 of those victories were in the UFC. Also, 3 of his last 6 wins were by way of a kimura submission which has been built up to be considered his signature move. As for Vera, he is trying to get his second consecutive win coming into this fight. His last fight was a win over Michael Patt at UFC 96 back in March of 2009. A win here could stop Soszynski’s winning streak and could very well place Vera back into the light heavyweight race.
