Mark Coleman Injures MCL, Pulls Out of UFC 106 Fight Against Tito Ortiz

Coleman Cancels Ortiz

Mark “The Hammer” Coleman was scheduled to fight Tito “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Ortiz as part of the main fight card at UFC 106.  Apparently, Coleman suffered a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) during a training session in preparation for his bout against Ortiz scheduled for November 21st.  Although Coleman asked to push their fight for the UFC 108 event in January, nothing has been confirmed.

Will the UFC postpone the light heavyweight battle for January 2009 or will Tito be handed a new opponent?  It actually wouldn’t be bad to see Tito fight someone else, but we’ll have to see what Dana White and the gang have to say about this unfortunate news.  We’ll keep you guys posted…

From Tito Ortiz via his twitter account:

“Coleman, coleman, coleman to bad he sissies out!!! Who’s next??? I’m kicking someone’s ass on Nov 21st!”
