The UFC 98 ‘Evans vs. Machida’ event is scheduled to take place next Saturday, May 23rd.  The show will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at Las Vegas, Nevada.  As part of the main event, UFC’s Mario Yamasaki has been selected to referee the five-round light heavyweight title fight between Rashad “Sugar” Evans and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida.  Neither camp has disagreed on the selection of Mario Yamasaki, so it is pretty much official.

As part of the UFC 98 co-main event, Matt Hughes will be fighting Matt Serra in a much anticipated welterweight bout.  Hughes vs. Serra was supposed to take place at UFC 79, immediately after season 6 of the Ultimate Fighter.  However, Serra was forced to withdraw from the fight after suffering a herniated disc in his lower back.  Now, both men are prepared to battle out the feud that has esclated since then.
