The former M-1 Global fighter Lucio “Spartan” Linhares is set to make his UFC debut against Rousimar Palhares as part of “The Ultimate Fighter” 10 finale. Linhares is currently riding on a five-fight winning streak while Palhares hasn’t fought since UFC 93 (January 2009) due to a broken leg he sustained.
Linhares tells media that inking a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) has been a “dream” of his for a very long time. “Spartan” will be a great addition to the UFC middleweight (185 lbs.) division.
From Lucio Linhares:
“Of course it was always a dream of mine to fight at UFC but I never thought it would become true. It’s the opportunity of my life now. Never is good to face off a Brazilian, especially a talented guy such Toquinho. I will prepare myself to fight standing and on the floor, despite I recognize jiu-jitsu and wrestling as his best skills. I will use my reach and maybe surprise him with my boxing background.”
