Kimbo Slice Wants Rematch With Seth Petruzelli, UFC Offer From Dana White

Kimbo Slice was the heavyweight superstar for the former EliteXC fighting organization until he lost to former UFC fighter Seth "The Silverback" Petruzelli on October 4th, 2008.  With just a 2-3 hour notice, Petruzelli was asked to replace the injured Ken Shamrock for the EliteXC main event.  In only 14 seconds, Petruzelli stunned the BankAtlantic center crowd by landing one hard punch to Kimbo’s jaw which sent the Miami streetfighter straight to the mat for good.

Kimbo respects Petruzelli for taking a last-minute fight.  However, he strongly feels that he deserves a rematch bout and this time there will be a fair chance for both fighters to train and prepare for each other.

Here’s a snip from Kimbo’s manager, Mike Imber:

"That’s something we’d like to do if an organization wants to…we’d like to do that before we fought somebody else, but the main thing is Kimbo does want to keep fighting and fight more.  That was one of his biggest concerns.  He wants to fight sooner than later, as soon as he can."

During the UFC 90 "Silva vs. Cote" post-fight press conference, Dana White mentions Kimbo Slice at one point.  White has never thought highly of Kimbo and had stated in the past that he would never have him in the UFC because he doesn’t like "freak shows."  Nonetheless, White hinted a possible offer for the internet backyard fighter.  It seems like Kimbo’s only ticket to fight in the UFC octagon would be to perform well on a season of The Ultimate Fighter.  White plans on making the next TUF show based on heavyweight fighters.

Here’s a snip from the UFC President, Dana White:

"What has the guy done to deserve to be in the UFC?  Nothing.  I don’t consider him a real athlete or anything.  He won’t win The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).  The offer is out there if he wants to take it and he won’t win it.  I might put a heavyweight show together just for him."
