Kimbo Slice was supposed to fight tonight against Tank Abbott in a bout that many people thought would put Kimbo to the test. Unfortunately, the promoters for CFFC 6 decided to cancel the event with no specific reasons. Several other fighting organizations like the PFC, which we mentioned not too long ago, tried to take over and make the bout actually happen. However, ProElite seems to have been a little bit quicker at hiring Kimbo for their organization. ProElite is the parent company to EliteXC, a popular MMA organization that continues to grow with talented fighters.
After signing with EliteXC, Kimbo was scheduled to fight in the Texas event that will be televised on November 10, on Showtime. There was no word of Abbott being a part of this next event, so as of right now it seems like Kimbo will be fighting someone already part of EliteXC. More on the negotiations and the next Texas event is expected to be posted on the ProElite.com website sometime this weekend.
