George Sotiropoulos Welcomes WEC Fighter Ben Henderson, Ready To Impose His Will Against Joe Lauzon At UFC 123

UFC lightweight fighter George Sotiropoulos welcomes all WEC lightweights to the UFC including current champion Ben Henderson.  Although he does not know much about Henderson, he seems excited about facing new challengers with the recent UFC/WEC merge.

In a recent interview, Sotiropoulos shared his thoughts on his upcoming bout against Joe Lauzon.  He respects Lauzon’s ground game and admits he has to be very cautious with his Jiu-Jitsu, but is still very confident in his gameplan coming into UFC 123.  He explains how winning is of utmost importance to him and that with consistent victories, he’ll eventually have a crack at the title.

UFC 123 is scheduled to take place this Saturday night, November 20th, at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan.  The main event will headline a 205-pound war between Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Lyoto ‘The Dragon’ Machida.

From George Sotiropoulos:

“I’ve never seen Ben Henderson fight. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see many WEC bouts, but I match up well against anybody. The title is very important for me, but I want to win every fight. I want to be the best lightweight in the world. I don’t look at what fights are going to get me a title shot. I don’t care who I fight or why. I care about winning. And if I continue to win, eventually I’ll be the champion. I’ve studied all of (Joe Lauzon’s) wins and all of his losses, and he’s an erratic fighter with good jiu jitsu that I have to be careful of, but I’m confident that I will be able to impose my will and my game on him.”
