Gegard Mousasi To Fight On NYE K-1 Dynamite Show, Talks Possible Title Fight Against Dan Henderson

Gegard Mousasi

The current Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi tells media and fans that his next fight will be contested under K-1 rules at the Dynamite!! show on New Year’s Eve in Japan, although his opponent has yet to be made official. The former DREAM middleweight champion is 1-0 in his kickboxing career, defeating Musashi via first-round TKO at last year’s Dynamite!! show.

In regards to his next MMA fight, he tells us that his fight contract allows him to fight only when his training partner Fedor Emelianenko is part of the same fight card which will most likely be aimed for early 2010.  He also talks about the recent Strikeforce signing of MMA legend Dan Henderson and the possibility of fighting him for the Strikeforce title.

From Gegard Mousasi:

“That would be an exciting fight for the fans…For me, it’s just another fight. But I understand that a win over a caliber fighter like Dan Henderson is very interesting…[In regards to his next MMA fight] So when he (his training partner Fedor Emelianenko) fights, I will fight too. But sooner would be also be fine by me…[It’s] not up to me…I fight what they put in front of me. So if they say fight Dan, then that’s it.”
