The former UFC middleweight fighter Thales Leites (14-3-0) was recently released by the UFC after back to back losses against Alessio “Legionarius Sakara and Anderson “The Spider” Silva. Prior to Leites’ last two defeats, he was 5-0 in the UFC.
Leites was immediately picked up by Mark Pavelich, a promoter for the Canadian organization Maximum Fighting Championships (MFC). The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter will be joining other UFC vets including Dean Lister, Jason MacDonald, Travis Lutter and Trevor Prangley.
From MFC promoter Mark Pavelich:
“He lost a split decision that many people thought he won, and the UFC cut him. I think he’s mad now.”
