The former UFC heavyweight fighter Fabricio Werdum has been training the past six months for one of the toughest fights in his mixed martial arts career. The BJJ/Judo black belt strongly feels that he has the right game plan to defeat the Russian Sambo expert Fedor Emelianenko.
So how will Werdum defeat Fedor? He tells us that his victory strategy is a secret that will be revealed on June 26 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Also on the card is Strikeforce featherweight champion Christiane Cyborg putting her belt on the line against Jan Finney.
From Fabricio Werdum:
“This is my life fight, a very good opportunity. I’m training every day for six months because my last fight was in November. I want this fight. I have a lot of respect for Fedor, he’s very good, very tough, but it’s my opportunity and my turn now. Fedor’s a very good puncher, very strong with his right cross. Everybody tries the same game every time. Cro Cop, Arlovski, Minotauro — everybody tries the same thing. I’m trying a different technique this time. I have a good surprise. I have a good strategy but it’s a secret.”
