DREAM 10 ‘Welterweight Grand Prix 2009: Final Round’ Fight Card Shaping For July 20

The DREAM 10 “Welterweight Grand Prix 2009: Final Round” event is scheduled to take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on July 20th.  After a superb victory by Hayato “Mach” Sakurai over Shinya Aoki at the DREAM 8 welterweight quarterfinal, Sakurai will now prepare to take on Marius Zaromskis in the semifinals.  Zaromskis defeated Seichi Ikemoto via a unanimous decision in an action-packed quarterfinal bout.

The second semi-final bout will be an MMA clash between Andre Galvao and Jason High.  Galvao was able to advance to the semi-finals after submitting his John Alessio 7 minutes into the first round.  Galvao is now holds a 3-0 MMA record, acquiring all wins by way of armbar submissions.  High is currently 7-1 in his professional MMA record and attained his DREAM quarterfinal win over Yuya Shirai via a rear-naked choke in the 59th second of the first round.  Both men share great submission techniques so expect a possible ground war on July 20th.

Welterweight Grand Prix Fight Card:

  • Hayato Sakurai (35-8-2) vs. Marius Zaromskis (9-2)
  • Andre Galvao (3-0) vs. Jason High (7-1)

DREAM Lightweight Title Fight:

  • Joachim Hansen (19-7) vs. Shinya Aoki (20-4)
