Doug Evans looks to come back for UFC 79

Doug Evans will finally come back to the octagon after suffering an injury in August of this year.  He was scheduled to fight Jorge Gurgel, but was forced to cancel due to the injury.  Now that he has recuperated fully, he tells us that he will be fighting at UFC 79-Nemesis.  His opponent will not be revealed until his official contract is signed by both fighters.

Evans was undefeated coming into the UFC with an impressive record of 5-0.  He faced Roger Huerta in The Ultimate Fighter 5 finale and lost via TKO-strikes in the 2nd round, which made his record fall to 5-1.  He looks to learn from that defeat and continue winning as he was doing so before he fought Huerta.

UFC 79-Nemesis will be taking place in Las Vegas on December 29th, 2007.  Already on the fight card are the current coaches of the Ultimate Fighter Season 6.  Matt Serra will look to defend his welterweight title for the very first time against the UFC veteran Matt Hughes in a battle that cannot be missed.  Other fighters rumored to fight on the card includes the debut of Wanderlei Silva, but the UFC has only released one fight so far for this card.  More updates on UFC 79-Nemesis will be posted as soon as we are informed.
