In a small conference held yesterday in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Dana White confirmed that Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez has officially moved down from welterweight (170 pounds) to the UFC’s lightweight division (155 pounds):
"Diego (Sanchez) moved down to 155 pounds. Diego’s a 155-pounder."
There were rumors going around internet forums about possible move to 155, but UFC president has finally confirmed it to the media. Sanchez will now have to face a very competitive division, possibly matching up with contenders like Roger Huerta, Sean Sherk, Tyson Griffin, Joe Stevenson, Kenny Florian, Frankie Edgar, BJ Penn and others.
