EliteXC presents Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott on February 16

The Miami-based backyard internet fighter Kimbo Slice will finally take on the former UFC heavyweight veteran Tank Abbott.  Both fighters were scheduled to fight at Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC 6) in Atlantic City on October 12th, 2007.  Due to financial difficulties, the entire promotion was completely canceled.  The street fight of the year seemed to disappear until EliteXC recently decided to set up the anticipated match-up.

The fight card will include Gina Carano who is currently featured as "Krush" on the new American Gladiators game show.  The former UFC fighter Scott Smith will be there as well going up against a very tough Kyle Noke who has won 3 of his last 4 bouts.  Also on the card (in separate bouts) is James "Colossus" Thompson and Antonio "Big Foot" Silva.  Thompson will be looking forward to acquiring new fans in the U.S. as he debuts that night and Silva will be training hard to add another win to his 2-0 record at EliteXC.

The event is scheduled to take place on February 16, 2007 @ 10pm ET on Showtime television.  The location of the fight is still unknown although there are rumors of having the event at Miami University.  We’ll keep you posted on the exact venue and the rest of the fight card as soon as we are informed.
