The UFC has been struggling to have mixed martial arts sanctioned in popular states, New York and Hawaii are some of several states.  Not too long ago, we wrote an article regarding a postponement of MMA sanctioning in New York and how it is now taking longer than expected for the bill to be approved.  We now learned that Hawaii has sanctioned the sport of MMA, but companies that wish to organize events will have to deal with rediculous taxes and fees.

Snip from UFC President Dana White:

“We finally get some regulations and they slap this huge tax on us that’s out of control, so probably never. I guess it’s their way of saying ‘OK, we’ll sanction this, but we’ll make sure nobody ever shows up and comes and does an event here.”
